What is it with audience members at Studio 54? First, Shia LaBeouf caused chaos at the venue during a performance of Cabaret. And now, Keira Knightly was disturbed as she made her Broadway debut in Thérèse Raquin. During the first preview on October 1, a young man started shouting at the Oscar nominee from the mezzanine, before tossing a bouquet of flowers at the stage.
Knightley and Tony winner Gabriel Ebert kept calm and kicked the flowers into the wings; however, according to the New York Daily News, the play was paused for five minutes while the man was removed from the theater and led away in handcuffs.
In addition to Knightley and Ebert, Thérèse Raquin stars Tony winner Judith Light, Matt Ryan and David Patrick Kelly. It will officially open on October 29.
